My name is Cynthia and I'm an active 52 year old. I've begun the Body For Life program and am loving it. The six meals a day and the exercises feel like they were designed for my body. I've been exercising for years but never in such a focused way. I want to get back into my size eights instead of barely getting my size tens buttoned! My daughter and I are working the program together, although she fits into the category of "tone only." I am curious about one thing--stretching and warming up. Do other fifty-plus folks make a habit of stretching before and after workouts? Its probably up to the individual, but I'm thinking that I don't want to be injured and unable to continue my workouts. Meanwhile, I'm snagging recipes wherever I can find them.

hi cynthia,
i too feel the need for warm-up and stretching. i know the program is supposed to work us in with the gradual addition of effort, but i always add an extra couple of minutes on beginning and end of the aerobic workout and find that a short stretching session between reps and after the workout makes me feel better. helps me use the 1 min rest rather than rush through the workout too.

hello cynthia and cookie,
This is just an opinion, and mine, LOL, But warming up for at least five minutes before you work out, arobics or weights, is very important. Stretching in between reps is a great way to keep loose too. I am 44 and lost 25 lbs in the 12 weeks I was on the BFL. I have been maintaining for over a year now! now that I have kept it off for so long I am going to try for the last 10 lbs....Ugh..... Good luck!
